I think Danzig's a deep guy, more than he lets on. Although the "Stalker Song" seems like a horrific story of obsession from a psychotic stalker's perspective, I think the song is a metaphor for depression. Perhaps it's the personification of depression or a depressive episode looming in the shadows waiting to invade your" home." The home is often recognized as a subconscious symbol of ourselves...like our body is a temple. Everything is fine, but if you're prone to these type of things it's always ever present waiting to "slip in", and especially when in a "hole."
It's no secret that Danzig uses dark imagery as metaphors for other things. Even is his Misfits days he used classic horror films as representations of things he was thinking and feeling. "Night of the Living Dead" is recognized as a love letter to the fiend club (his fans) and the scene. I've heard "Skulls" is a commentary on trophy wives, or the other thing (the slang) depending on who you ask.
"138"...society and people just following the herd.
I could be wrong. I kind of believe Danzig know a thing or two about depression. I guess the great thing about any kind of art (the good kind) is that we can interpret it and find some comfort or insight that helps us understand ourselves, the world, and others in new ways
